Guillermo Espiga

Guillermo has more than 20 years of domestic and international project infrastructure experience, including 15 years of financing and M&A expertise. He has led the development and financing of projects in both established power generation companies and startups. Prior to joining GenPower, he successfully led the finance, development, and asset management of multiple large-infrastructure energy projects throughout the United States, Latin America, Europe, and Asia Pacific, to date securing more than $2 billion in non-recourse financing and M&A activity exceeding $200 million. Guillermo has a BA in civil engineering and an MBA from Boston College.

Gerald Hamaliuk
Chief Technical Officer
GenPower Carbon Solutions

Gerald is a globally recognized expert in carbon capture project development. A pioneer in post-Kyoto Protocol venture development in the Asia Pacific, he is responsible for the design, engineering, and investment of start-up and multinational operations including 20 Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects throughout China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand, six of which are currently registered by the CDM and 14 are in the process of validation. In addition, Gerald led the design of landfill gas recovery and utilization systems for Shanghai in China under the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) as well as coal-to-gas conversion district heating projects in Beijing and Qingdao. Prior to joining GenPower Carbon Solutions, Gerald founded LFGC Corporation Ltd., one of the first expert renewable energy development and utilization companies in the carbon capture field. He has two Bachelor of Science degrees, in chemistry and chemical engineering, as well as an MBA in law and marketing from the University of Alberta in Canada.

Rupam Raja

Rupam Raja
Director, Origination

Rupam is an emission offset industry veteran with specific expertise in project development, operations, and climate and renewable energy policy compliance. As the director of origination, he negotiates contracts and emission reduction purchase agreements for Certified Emission Reduction ventures. Prior to joining GenPower Carbon Solutions, Rupam was the regional program manager for AES Climate Solutions, responsible for project development, construction, and operations in South East Asia. In this position he secured regional contracts with more than 80 business owners representing 2.8 million tons of carbon dioxide (CO2 ) including construction and operations of 500,000 tons of annual carbon emissions offset projects in Malaysia and Indonesia. Rupam has Bachelor of Architecture degree from Kerala, India, a Master of environmental planning degree from Arizona State University and an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management.

Philip O'Flaherty

Philip O’Flaherty
Director, Strategic Management

As director of strategic planning, Phil brings extensive executive level finance, operations, and IT experience  to the GenPower Carbon Solutions team.  He is responsible for the identification and evaluation of new opportunities/industries as well as all back office functions including reporting, fiscal analysis, and information technology. Phil’s background includes experience in the power generation, solid waste, residential real estate development and food industries, including extensive experience with capital projects.  Prior to joining GPCS, Phil oversaw financial reporting, acquisitions and information technology at North East Waste Services, a landfill-intensive regional solid waste company in the Northeast  US. He graduated from Babson College with a Bachelor of Science in finance and accounting.

Edward Dunn

Edward Dunn
Financial Analyst

As financial analyst, Edward evaluates the economic viability of various carbon offset projects that the Carbon Solutions team reviews.  Prior to joining Carbon Solutions, Edward worked as an investment banker at Thomas Weisel Partners, a technology-focused firm in New York City.  Within the Electronics and Applied Technologies group, he worked on numerous M&A and corporate finance transactions covering the semiconductor, electronics supply chain and defense technology sectors.  Edward has a BA in Economics from Dartmouth College.
